The Votes Are In...

So, it looks like 38% voted 'other' on the poll. Now I'm curious. Where is this other place that you would like to see BGJ? Post up your suggestions and let us know. If you know a venue or club/bar that we can set up in your hometown speak up. BGJ is always looking for a new place to bring the party.

HO! HO! Holy Kanishmas!

Once again Goodfella's doesn't disappoint! Even with the post Christmas turkey still wanting us to sleep it off and New Year's sneaking up for that 2009 goose to the caboose, the Bubblegum Jack party crowd filled the room for our last show of the year. I'll have the last set of pics up as soon as possible.
BGJ will see everyone again at Crusen's on Farmington Rd. on January 10th and we're pretty sure Tommy will be more than a member of the peanut gallery this time. 2009 looks to be another great year for BGJ and we're looking forward to seeing everyone that brings the party and we hope to add a few new faces as well.

Thanks to everyone who made 2008 awesome for Jack and have a safe and Happy New Year!

Jack hangs with the Fella's Saturday night!

Congrats to Dirk and Allison McCoy - they took the vows and we wish them a long and happy life together. Thanks to Cody, Mike, Josh, Dirk and Gary for their jams.

Once again Goodfella's in Pekin proves that they will not fail when it comes to hanging out with Jack! Saturday night marked my return to the stage at Goodfella's. Last time I was there the stage was in the opposite corner and the bar was only half as big as it is now. Our second show with myself and Ryno in the group and our first with Tommy. Who, by the way, belted out his signature Journey tunes for a crowd of admirers. We pulled out some new tunes and proved to Jeff that the Summer of 69' will never be forgotten. Should we change that to the Summer of 89'? The ladies showed their support of my wardrobe choice (nope not gay, just color savvy), Ryan was shown a little more than he wanted to see, Wes proved that any law can be broken, apparently there is a hairdresser for band guys in Pekin somewhere and Jeff shook us with a banjo solo...Why? Cause he can of course.

Despite the lack of pool tables in the back everyone had a great time. The staff at Goodfella's continue to support our antics and we will continue to bring the party! BGJ will be back at Goodfella's on December 27th to finish off 2008. We have a lot of shows lined up for 2009 already so make sure you check out the calendar or if you have a Google account you can add Jack's calendar to your own - If you have song suggestions let us know. Jack is always looking for new venues, so if you know a place that Jack can lay down the party then give us a shout!

Crusens 1 - Tommy B 0

Thank you Crusens II for hanging with us all night! As new members Ryan Rose and Eric Barley were about to pop their cherry bubblegum, they got word that the Infamous Tommy B would not be joining them on the stage! Say what!
That's right Tommy B had fallen victim to laryngitis. So, not expecting a big night, we rallied the troops and made the best of it. A big thanks to our guest players last night. Crusens, seriously, we couldn't have asked for a better crowd! You guys kicked ass and hung in there with our abnormal stage show and didn't show any signs of stopping. Ryan stepped up to the plate and lead a vocal charge through the set lists and Eric proved that he shouldn't wear ties, but still put on a great show. Overall we had a great time and we look forward to doing it again. Hell, next time we might let Tommy play too..

A wise man once said,For everything there is a season.

After a five-year run with the band, founding members Bret Johnson and Jeff Brockamp will be leaving the Jack family at the end of this month. Both Bret and Jeff have been key components in building Jack's success and are the backbone of some of the tightest vocal harmonies in the area. It has been a true pleasure for Jack to have the opportunity to play with such talented musicians such as Bret and Jeff and we all wish them the best as they move on to future musical adventures.

Welcome aboard Ryan and Eric!

Well, if you thought that Jack was ready to hang it up, then you don't know Jack about Jack. We have brought two area veteran musicians onboard and this new lineup promises not only to carry on the Jack tradition as you all know it, but will also take the band in new and exciting directions. Jack welcomes new members Ryan Rose (Bass) and Eric Barley (Guitar).

Ryan Rose (aka, Ryno)

If you have been around the local music scene for the last 15+ years, then you have seen Ryan Rose in action. Ryan has played in bands such as Charlotte's Webb, Jynx , Krankenstein, Max Havoc, The Shake, Bogart Jones, and Star 69. Ryan is one of those multi-talented / multi-instrumentalists that can play about anything - bass, guitar, drums, keyboards, and BTW, did we mention that Ryan can sing? You can check out what Ryan is up to with is original recording project at www.myspace.com/rynolid.

Eric Barley

Think back a few years ago to a band that used to 'pack-em in' at Goodfellas and likely you will recall Yellow Dye #5 (current Jack members Tommy and Shandal's former band). Well let the reunion begin as former Yellow Dye #5 guitar player Eric Barley rejoins the stage with Tommy and Shandal. This time as the new axe-slinger for Jack. Eric brings big guitars, big vocals, and lots of energy to the band as well as one of the largest hat collections around. You can find some of Eric's original demos at elixirmm.googlepages.com/blah.

The New Era Begins!

The new Jack lineup will debut at Crusen's Farmington Rd on Nov 8th! This will be a Crusen's show 'not to be missed'! We will be tossing out some Jack T-Shirts as well as debuting some brand-new tunes. Jack then brings it home when we hit Pekin's Goodfellas on Dec 6th. This will be a special double-header as we will be playing a wedding reception at the club earlier in the day for one of Jack's good friends followed by a full-blown Jack Christmas show from 9-1. This promises to be the show of shows and one to get on calendar! Maybe Santa will show up and you can sit on his lap and tell him what you want!

Recap of the remaining 2008 Dates

Nov 8th Crusens Farmington Rd (Debut of new Jack with Ryan and Eric)
Dec 6th Goodfellas (Jack Christmas Party)
